In celebration of Hindi Diwas, the Department of Hindi, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized a Debate Competition on the theme “Our National Language, Our Mother Tongue.” The event aimed to promote a deeper understanding of the significance of Hindi in preserving India’s cultural and linguistic identity.

Topic: “Should Hindi be declared the sole official language of India?”
Date: 12 September 2025

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who presented insightful perspectives on the role of Hindi in uniting the nation while respecting India’s linguistic diversity. Their articulate arguments reflected not only their command of language but also their awareness of the socio-cultural importance of Hindi in contemporary India.

The event was graced by Dr. Geeta Samor, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, as the Chief Guest. In her inspiring address, she encouraged students to take pride in the Hindi language and to contribute actively to its preservation and growth in the modern era.

The competition proved to be more than a contest of words — it became a celebration of ideas, patriotism, and linguistic pride. It successfully rekindled a sense of respect and emotional connection towards Hindi as a language that binds India’s diverse voices into one harmonious identity.
